ABCD Program ManagerSandra graduated from the University of Alberta in 1993 with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy. In addition to working in a hospital and community pharmacy, Sandra was involved in research at the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Alberta before joining the Alberta Drug Utilization Program (ADUP) in 1999. Sandra spent 5 years with ADUP as the Trial Prescription Program Manager and one of the program’s Academic Detailers – providing physicians with evidence based information during one to one visits in their clinic offices with the goal of optimizing patient care. In 2005, Sandra joined the Canadian Agency for Drugs and Technologies in Health (CADTH) as the Alberta Liaison Officer tasked with increasing awareness of CADTH’s programs and services, and facilitating the use of evidence based information in decisions about health technologies. After 2 years in this role, Sandra moved to the Canadian Medication Prescribing and Utilization Service (COMPUS), a division of CADTH, as Manager of Implementation Support. In her role as manager, she supported the national implementation and evaluation of COMPUS’ optimal practice intervention program. |
